Terms and conditions

These terms govern the booking of the liveaboard diving expeditions offered by Dive in Red Sea (the “organiser”). By booking a place, the client confirms having read and accepted them.

1. Organiser

Dive in Red Sea, a company incorporated in Egypt with its registered address at Marina de Hurghada 1, Hurghada (Egypt) and represented by Sayed Abdelbaset. Contact: info@diveinredsea.com.

2. What the price includes

Unless otherwise stated on each departure page, the price includes: 7 nights on board in a double cabin, full board, guided dives according to the programme, Nitrox for certified divers, 12-litre tank with belt and weights, airport–boat–airport transfers at the scheduled times, and guides speaking Spanish, English, Italian and French.

3. What the price does not include

Marine park fees and tips (shown on each departure), flights, hotels, Egyptian visa, equipment rental, courses, travel and dive insurance, alcoholic drinks and transfers outside the scheduled times. Equipment rental and course prices are those published on the website at the time of booking.

4. Booking and payment

  • To confirm the booking, 40% of the cabin price is paid by bank transfer.
  • The second payment, the remaining 60% of the cabin price, is paid by bank transfer two months before the departure date.
  • Bookings made less than two months before departure are paid in full at the time of booking.
  • Marine park fees and tips, equipment rental and courses are paid on board, in cash and in euros.
  • If the second payment is not received on time, Dive in Red Sea may cancel the booking and apply the cancellation fees in section 6.
  • The booking is considered confirmed when the client receives written confirmation.

5. Cabins and offers

Cabins with a double bed and the King Suite carry a supplement shown on the website and can only be booked for two people. Group offers (5 + 1 and 10 + 2, or 6 + 1 and 12 + 2, as shown on each departure) apply to joint bookings by the same group on the same departure; free places only pay marine park fees and tips. Offers cannot be combined unless expressly stated.

6. Cancellation by the client

The client may cancel the booking by writing to info@diveinredsea.com. In that case, the following fees will be deducted from the trip price:

  • More than 60 days before the departure date: 25% of the trip price.
  • Between 60 and 31 days before the departure date: 50% of the trip price.
  • Between 30 and 0 days before the departure date, or no-show: 100% of the trip price.

The client may transfer the place to another person who meets the trip requirements, giving sufficient notice. We recommend taking out travel insurance with cancellation cover.

7. Price revision

Exceptionally, Dive in Red Sea reserves the right to apply a reasonable surcharge to its prices when economic changes cause a significant difference in its cost structure, such as:

  • Increases in transport costs, including fuel.
  • Increases in official taxes and fees, such as embarkation or disembarkation fees or sales taxes.
  • Exchange rate fluctuations.

The surcharge will be notified to the client at least 14 days before it takes effect.

8. Itinerary changes during the trip

During the trip week, the captain and Dive in Red Sea reserve the right to change or delay dives when weather conditions make reaching the dive site dangerous or inadvisable, for both the clients and the boat. The captain may delay or postpone sailing until conditions are favourable, which may mean adjusting the itinerary or changing the dive sites. The route and dive sites may also change on the instructions of the local authorities, always putting safety first. These changes do not give the right to a refund.

9. Cancellation before the trip due to force majeure

  • If the boat owner cancels the departure due to force majeure, Dive in Red Sea will help find a suitable alternative boat or dive centre. Only if this is not possible will the full amount paid be refunded.
  • If the causes of force majeure are beyond Dive in Red Sea's control, the cancellation policy in section 6 will apply.
  • If neither party is responsible for the cancellation, the trip will be rescheduled for dates available to both parties.
  • Dive in Red Sea is not responsible for additional travel costs that the client has booked independently, such as flights, hotels or similar expenses.

10. Requirements to take part

  • Certification: northern routes, Open Water minimum (the certification determines the dives and maximum depth allowed; the full programme requires Advanced or equivalent); southern routes, Advanced minimum.
  • Age: minimum 10 years. Minors must always travel with their parents or legal guardians.
  • Documents: certification card and logbook, passport with sufficient validity and Egyptian visa.
  • Fitness: the client must be physically, emotionally and mentally prepared and fit to take part in the activities, and fill in the medical questionnaire provided. Any injury or discomfort resulting from a lack of fitness will not be grounds for a claim or refund.
  • Insurance: dive insurance is mandatory. Travel insurance is also recommended.

11. Client obligations and safety on board

The client agrees to follow the instructions of the captain, guides and crew, and to dive within the limits of their certification. Dive in Red Sea may prevent a person from taking part in the dives, without a refund, if they:

  • Are not in a suitable physical, mental or emotional condition to dive.
  • Show a clear lack of respect for the Marine Park rules.
  • Handle or damage marine life.
  • Drink alcohol between dives.
  • Break international diving safety rules and practices.

If the client acts negligently or irresponsibly and causes damage to or loss of property or equipment of the boat or rental equipment, they must pay its full current market value.

12. Liability

Diving is an activity with inherent risks that the client knows and accepts. Dive in Red Sea is responsible for the proper provision of the services booked, but not for damage resulting from failure to follow safety instructions, force majeure or acts of third parties unrelated to the organiser.

13. Complaints

Any incident during the trip must be reported at the time to the person in charge on board so that it can be solved on the spot. Later complaints can be sent in writing to info@diveinredsea.com.

14. Applicable law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt. If the client is a consumer resident in the European Union, they will keep the protection granted by the mandatory rules of their country of residence.
