Cookie policy
This page explains what cookies are, which ones this website uses, what they are for and how you can accept, reject or delete them. This policy applies to www.diveinredsea.com (the “website”) and, for users located in the European Union, has been drawn up in accordance with Article 22.2 of Spanish Law 34/2002 on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce (LSSI), Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and the cookie guidelines of the Spanish Data Protection Agency.
1. Controller
The website is run by Dive in Red Sea, a company incorporated in Egypt with its registered address at Marina de Hurghada 1, Hurghada (Egypt) and represented by Sayed Abdelbaset. You can contact us about this policy at info@diveinredsea.com.
As our services are also aimed at people in the European Union, we apply the GDPR and Spanish cookie rules to them.
2. What are cookies?
Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser when you visit it. They allow, for example, the page to work properly, your preferences to be remembered or us to know how the website is used so we can improve it. By “cookies” we also mean similar technologies, such as the browser's local storage.
3. Types of cookies
- By who manages them: first-party, if this website sets them, or third-party, if another company sets them through this website (for example, Google).
- By duration: session cookies, deleted when you close the browser, or persistent cookies, kept for a set time.
- By purpose:
- Technical or necessary: essential for the website to work (browsing, using the booking form or saving your cookie choice). They do not require your consent.
- Preferences: remember your choices, such as language.
- Analytics: tell us how many people visit the website and which pages they view, so we can improve it.
- Advertising: measure how effective our advertising campaigns are and allow relevant ads to be shown to you.
4. Cookies used on this website
We only set technical cookies without your consent. Analytics and advertising cookies are only turned on if you accept them in the cookie notice shown when you enter the website.
| Cookie / service | Owner | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cookie preference (browser local storage) | Dive in Red Sea (first-party) | Save whether you have accepted or rejected cookies | Technical | 12 months |
| Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*) | Google Ireland Ltd. (third-party) | Measure visits and use of the website statistically | Analytics | Up to 2 years |
| Google Ads (_gcl_au and similar) | Google Ireland Ltd. (third-party) | Measure bookings and contacts coming from our ads | Advertising | Up to 90 days |
5. Links to other websites
This website contains links to third-party services such as WhatsApp, Google Maps, Instagram, IATI or Divevolk. When you click them you leave our website, and those companies may set their own cookies under their policies, over which we have no control. We recommend reading them on their websites.
6. International transfers
Some of the providers listed, such as Google, may process data outside the European Economic Area. In those cases, transfers are made with the safeguards provided for in the GDPR, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.
7. How to accept, reject or withdraw your consent
When you first enter the website you will see a notice where you can accept all cookies, reject the non-essential ones or configure your preferences by category. You can change your mind at any time from the “Cookie settings” link in the footer. Rejecting analytics or advertising cookies does not stop you from using the website.
8. How to delete cookies from your browser
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings:
- Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies / Delete browsing data.
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Safari (Mac and iPhone): Settings → Safari → Advanced / Website Data.
- Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions.
If you block all cookies, some parts of the website, such as the calculator or the booking form, may not work properly.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the services we use or the applicable rules change. The date of the last update appears at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we will ask for your consent again.
10. More information
